that idyllic cafe

I noticed that the double doors at the entrance now have giant stickers that a drunken wingbat couldn’t be confused as to which one to choose. As if being so intoxicated that one may forget to at least pretend to be civilized and follow basic social norms. Like keeping to the right?

Cafe had a variety of couples enjoying their favorite brew.
If that’s not your preferred beverage then why order it?

I hope my presence didn’t make the barista feel rushed. Curt yet polite greeting as she was working the espresso machine. Confidently smug reviewing the process step by step as she completed the task at hand. No need to say; “I’ll be with you in a moment”. That was apparent.

First come first serve and within a metropolitan area there is peoples everywhere. I don’t mind patiently waiting. Certainly the other patrons are just as eager to sip that specialty java. I got a medium dark roast and didn’t add any condiments. It was perfecto as is.

Well worth the splurging of two and a quatre for the treat.

She advised there be no change as cash register still locked. I had exact change. Paid an extra loonie for gratuity. She seemed quite delighted. Money can bring happiness. Or maybe I miss read the situation and she was at ease that there wasn’t a fuss.

Professional and polite. Perhaps relieved that I didn’t try to chat her up.

I was there to get my morning coffee. Seeing her happily do her job. And am glad to see others enjoying life. I guess the opposite of Schadenfreude?

Ideal in the sense that everyone present were peacefully enjoying the moment.

The way life should be.
